Wow this was my first time on your page and that was amazing to read ! I felt seen and overjoyed that women within the PMDD are shifting the narrative around pmdd and how to approach it. Thank you for this.
I completely resonate with the idea of shifting the focus of your title…language is so important for unlocking healing. My last post touches on this topic too…specifically discussing the luteal phase. Like minds an all that! So lovely to see so many out there taking control of their narrative!
As a person who has PMDD, and quite often wants to blow my life apart, this was extremely affirming! I’m excited to see what your zine is like and look forward trying to grab one.
Isn’t it beautiful to see people like us, out in the world, galvanised so often by our pain and offering our experiences and knowledge with others. Others, like myself, who really need it 🫂
A reflection I’ve been having lately, is how much the patriarchy wants women disconnected from themselves and each other. (And nature, and our cyclical nature). We are keep weaker when we are apart and we are stronger when we share our struggles as well as our triumphs. It gives me great hope that future generations with have language for their bodies, thoughts and feelings, that maybe we never did 🥲
P.S. in the autumn I’m going to create my first zine. Eeek. Probably about my joy for Snail Mail and encouraging folks to send a handwritten something to a friend or loved one. It would be great to hear about your process in clearing this from scratch. Do you think that’s a future post? (No pressure!!)
I’m really glad to hear how this landed with you, Louise. I think affirmation and support is absolutely what we need more of, especially when we’re going through PMDD.
I totally resonate with what you’re saying about our most challenging experiences morphing into work that goes on to touch others, that’s absolutely what I’ve experienced from others people’s work and now in my own creative process too. The ripple effect can be profound. Your words on nature also reminded me of what you said in a previous comment about sharing cyclical wisdom with your kids, I really love that it’s so beautiful.
How exciting that you’re making a zine! I love the theme - I’m such a sucker for posting things and handwritten messages so I’ll be keen to see that.
I hadn’t thought about doing a post on the process of creating this zine but now you’ve mentioned it, I think it could actually be really fun to write (the project has been working me for 2.5 years so there’s a lot to share 😂). Thank you for the idea and for your thoughtful comment. x

That makes me so happy, Luna. Thank you for taking the time to read and let me know!
